Wednesday’s Praise and Worship Session

 praise_and_worship 2praise is what I do

Welcome to Wednesday’s Praise and Worship Session! I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together. (Psalm 34:1-3) This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)

Praise is one of humanity’s many responses to God’s revelation of Himself. Praise comes from a Latin word meaning value or price. Thus, to give praise to God is to proclaim His merit or worth. Many terms are used to express this in the Bible, including glory, blessing, thanksgiving, and hallelujah, the last named being a transliteration of the Hebrew for “Praise the Lord.” The modes of praise are many, including the offering of sacrifices, physical movement, silence and meditation, testimony, and living a holy life. Praise is almost always invariably linked to music, both instrumental and, especially, vocal.O clap your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of  triumph. For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth. When we praise God, we are giving Him an offering of thanksgiving, for what He has done, for what He is doing, and what He is going to do in our lives. Praise is an attitude of gratitude. When we worship God, we are not asking Him for anything. When we worship God, we celebrate Him, because He is God. Our God is the Great I Am! He is Immanuel, which is a personal name, meaning, God with us. “We worship to ascribe to God His supreme worth. Worship in the broadest sense, is a meeting between God and His people! Worship affects God. Worship draws people into the very presence of God!” As the worship song plays, why not take a few moments to offer unto God a praise of thanksgiving for what He is doing in your life, and worship Him because  of who He is, because He is God! Give God the fruit of your lips. Give Him a heart felt praise! Bow in His presence. Glorify Him. Speak well of Him, and honor Him. Our God is worthy to be praised! Let everything that hath breath, praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord!
Feel free to share a worship song, a praise of thanksgiving, or a Psalm of praise and worship in the comment box. Please join me next time, for another Praise and Worship Session! May the Lord bless you abundantly, today and everyday!

Verse 1
Praise is what I do
When I want to be close to You,
I lift my hands in praise.
Praise is who I am,
I will praise Him while I can.
I’ll bless Him at all times.

Chorus
I vow to praise You
Through the good and the bad.
I’ll praise You, whether happy or sad.
I’ll praise You in all that I go through,
Because praise is what I do,
Cause I owe it all to You.

Verse 2
Praise is what I do,
Even when I am going through,
(See I’ve learned…)
I’ve learned to worship You.
No my circumstance doesn’t even stand a chance,
My praise out weighs the bad.

(Repeat Chorus)

Now somebody lift your voice
And just go to praising him right now
Somebody lift your voice in this place
Lift up your voice in this place

Praise is what I do, it’s what I do…

(Repeat several times)

  1. Amen! You are right. Worship truly does connect us to God. And even though we do not worship just to ask God for stuff it is amazing when we do worship our needs and desires are always meet.

  2. Oh praising and worshiping Paulette! Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to join with others and worship. I’m crying and thankful and going to worship Him now!
God bless you and your heart of worship for Him!
    love and prayers!

    • Hello encouraging Debbie,

It is truly a beautiful thing to worship God in spirit and in truth, and to do it corporately! My soul was made happy today! I enjoyed being in the presence of Almighty God, and knowing that others were worshiping along with me! Thank you so much for planting that seed in your comment, last week! It is because of you, that we are here today worshiping! God bless you, my worshiping friend!

  3. “Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” Psalm 107:7-9 I really enjoyed Wednesday’s Praise & Worship Session! Just wanted to share a song that has been ministering to me: “I Hear The Sound (Of Victory)” by Maurette Brown Clark. Here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tgs4k96K1eQ. I pray you can open it!

    • Hi Crystal,

I am so glad you stopped by! Thank you for sharing Psalm 107:7-9 with us! I also enjoyed the song you shared! It was a wonderful day! God bless you!

  4. Sister Paulette that song you choose Praise Is What I do..girl that is my theme song I play that song to death if there is such a thing. I love it.

    • Hello Minister Desiray,

I know! 🙂 It is definitely one of my favorites! I remember going through a very difficult time in my life, and I played that song over and over and over again! Even when the tears were streaming down my face, I played that song, because I believed it from my heart! God bless you, and thanks so much for stopping by! 🙂

  5. So beautiful, thanks for sharing. It’s so important to praise the Lord, and not just pray for favors when times are tough. We are not meant to be fair-weather-followers. 🙂
    Peace & grace,
    ~Miro

    • Oh I SO love that–“we are not meant to be fair-weather-followers”! I agree, and having just come through a “week of bleak”, I must praise Him for bringing me through once again–the tough times keep me pressing into HIM!! Yay, God!

      • Hello Caddo,

Such a lovely follow for Miro’s comment! 🙂 I’m so glad the Lord brought you through the “week of bleak” with a praise of victory! God is truly worthy to be praised! 🙂

    • Hi Miro,

Amen “WARRIOR POET”! It’s vitally important to bless the Lord at ALL times; not just in the good times! Also, what Caddo said! 🙂

I’m so glad you stopped by! God bless!

  6. Paulette, thanks. Worship is misunderstood by so many, but it is such a joy to be completely lost in worship and praise.
While I know it is important and beneficial to praise God together as a group of believers, I have to say my praise times are much more rich when I am alone – alone with my great God.

    • Hi Angela,

Amen! “In His presence is fullness of joy! At thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.” There is no other place I’d rather be, than “completely lost” in His majestic presence! Yes, our God truly is a great God! God bless!

  7. I am so glad I visited your blog. So beautiful and thanks for sharing. I have bookmarked your blog and look forward to visit it daily. Thank you for visiting my blog as well. God bless you!

    • Hi Latasha,

Welcome! I’m so glad you were able to be a part of our first “official” Worship Session! 🙂 I enjoy reading your inspirational tweets, and I will visit your blog again soon! Thank you for your words of kindness! Blessings!

  8. Paulette–how wonderful to have a place to come and praise HIM online!! Think what it will be like when we’re all in Heaven together–no more fussing with keyboards and computer glitches!! We’ll get to see each other, hear our voices–and HUG BIG! Have a blessed day, Sister–and thanks!

    • Hello Caddo,

It has always been my hope, that my blog would be a “Place of Worship.” However, it was a comment from Debbie on a previous article, which planted the seed to have an official “Worship Session” here. Then, you “watered” that seed with one of your comments! But, it was God who gave the increase! Hallelujah! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

I was literally filled with awe, when I began to think on what it will be like when we all get to Heaven! “What a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, we will sing and shout for victory!” To worship Him face-to-face? My goodness! What a time, what a time, what a time that will be! Caddo, you have stirred my spirit again! It’s time for another private Worship Session! 🙂 God bless!

  9. Paulette I love the line that says “I vow to praise You
Through the good and the bad” It’s not about how I feel! It’s about who He is! And who He is is always bigger than my feelings! Thanks. 🙂

    • Hi Pastor J,

Amen! That is definitely one of my favorite lines in that song! Thanks so much for stopping by, and adding a comment! 🙂 It’s all about Him! God bless you!

  10. Thank you for sharing this worship jump start with us! It is so refreshing to take a moment and praise God for who he is since we were created to give God glory. =)

    • Hello Aimee,

God bless you! Thanks for stopping by, and joining us in Praise and Worship to the King of kings and Lord of lords! Please check in each Wednesday, to join us in another Praise and Worship Session, as our God leads! Have a blessed day! 🙂

    • Blessings Ann!
