Wednesday’s Praise and Worship Session (5)

Welcome to Wednesday’s Praise and Worship Session! Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forever more. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’s name is to be praised. The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. (Psalm 113:1-4) Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake. (Psalm 115:1) O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. (Psalm 117:1) O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. (Psalm 118:1) Praise ye the LORD!

This is the day the Lord has made. I am going to rejoice and be glad in it. What about you? Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Praise is an offering of grateful homage through prayer, the spoken word, a song, or instrumentally unto God. Praise is the act of admiration, commendation, laudation, and appreciation. Praise is an act of worship. Sometimes we need to give God a praise gratuitously. Sometimes we need to just give God a spontaneous praise! We don’t have to wait until God does something “awesome” for us; something that we’ve been praying for, for a very long time. When you think on the goodness of Jesus, and all that He has already done for you, your very soul should just cry out hallelujah, praise the Lord! Today, I want you to express an attitude of gratitude unto our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. All day long, I want you to give thanks with a grateful heart. No, things may not be going your way right now. No, God may not have healed your body as of yet. No, God might not have answered your prayer as of yet. However, our praise and worship is not predicated upon our set of circumstances, or how we feel. We offer praise and worship unto God just because; just because He is God! We are not forced into a position of worship by God. Worship is a choice.

Get lost in the presence of God. Just forget about yourself, and concentrate on Him, and worship Him. Forget about your surroundings for a few moments. Forget about who might be listening to you. Forget about what time it is, and give God this space of time. Doesn’t He deserve it? Who breathed into your nostrils the breath of life? Who keeps you clothed in your right mind? Who gave you health and strength on today? Who covers you from seen and unseen danger? Who supplies all of your needs, and even some of your wants? Who showers you with mercies, new mercies, day by day? Who suffered vicariously in your place, that you might have a right unto the tree of life? Think on something that the Lord has done for you, and you know only God could have done it. Then tell the Lord thank you! Give Him glorious praise today !

Will you choose to worship the Lord today? Will you choose to render a heartfelt praise unto God today? Will you allow worship and praise to pour out of you, like a cascading waterfall upon weather beaten rocks? Heartfelt worship touches the very heart of God. This kind of worship causes a paradigm shift in the atmosphere. God will honor heartfelt praise and worship. As you listen to the lyrics of the song, “Shifting the Atmosphere,” Begin to give God a worthy praise, a heartfelt praise of glory and honor! “Our worship and our praise, is shifting, shifting the atmosphere. For breakthrough in healing, our worship is shifting, shifting the atmosphere. Every yoke is destroyed, every chain is broken. This worship is shifting, shifting the atmosphere.”

Feel free to share a worship song, a praise of thanksgiving, a Psalm of praise and worship, or whatever the Lord speaks into your heart to share, in the comment box. Please join us next time, for another Praise and Worship Session! Give God a praise today, that will cause a shift in the atmosphere!
