Matthew 6:25 Therefore I tell you not to worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and your body more important than clothes? Verse 33: But seek ye first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. Verse 34: therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:25-34) NIV
Are you heavy laden with burdens, and the cares of this life? Are your knees buckling under the pressures from without and within? I want to remind you of the fact, that you have a friend in Jesus. God’s Word tells us to cast our cares upon Him, because He careth for us! He loves us so! When we are weak, then we become strong in the strength of the Lord! God’s grace is sufficient for us, and His strength is made perfect in weakness. Jesus wants us to seek Him first, and His righteousness. He wants us to humble ourselves, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways. Then He will forgive our sins, and heal our land. (Read II Chronicles 7:14) He will heal our broken hearts, and He will heal our hurts. He may not always move our mountains, but He will give us the strength to climb those mountains. He will supply our needs, according to His riches in glory. Don’t get stressed out and bogged down, because we can go to God in prayer, and tell Him all about our troubles! His line is never busy, and He is a present help in trouble. Jesus knows how much we can bear.
Stress is anxiety, pressure and tension. When stress builds up, we become anxious and we worry. Stress causes mental and emotional strain. It is a known fact, that some people develop high blood pressure, while others may experience a pounding heart, dizziness, restlessness, and ulcers, as well as other health issues due to being stressed out. When suffering from pre-existing illnesses, stress will exacerbate those symptoms. So it is in our best interests to turn everything over to Jesus, and let Him work it out. My mother said to me the other night, “If you’re going to pray don’t worry, and if you’re going to worry don’t pray!” In Matthew 11:28-29 Jesus tells us, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Jesus can work it out. He knows what’s best for us! Don’t sweat it. Give it to Jesus. Give Him your burdens, your cares, your troubles, your illnesses, your financial struggles, your family issues, and any other struggle that comes to your mind. Put your trust in the Lord! God is able! He won’t fail! May God bless you abundantly, today and every day.
