With God All Things Are Possible

In Genesis 18:14, God posed the question, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” When Abram was ninety and nine years old, the Lord appeared unto him and made a covenant between Himself and Abram. God told Abram He would multiply him exceedingly. Even though he was ninety nine years old, God told him he would be the father of many nations, which was why He changed his name from Abram to Abraham. At ninety nine years of age, God told him he would make him exceeding fruitful. God also spoke a word to him about his wife Sarai, and He told him to change her name to Sarah, because He was going to bless her, and give him a son also of her, and  that she would be a mother of nations. Then, Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born unto him, that is an hundred years old, and shall Sarah that is ninety years old, bear?” At one point, Sarah also laughed within herself about the idea of them bearing a child, after she had waxed old. However, the Lord spoke once again, and said unto them, “At the time appointed, I will return unto thee, according to the time of  life, and Sarah shall have a son.”

It was apparent, that neither Abraham nor Sarah, thought it possible to bear a child after they had waxed old. God revealed unto them, that nothing was too hard for Him, and that He was able to do things thought impossible! “And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time, of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto  him, Isaac.”

The promises of God, are yea and amen. If He spoke it, it shall come to pass. We must hold on to the promises of God, in spite of our situations, and no matter how long it takes for the promises to come to fruition! We too must believe that nothing is too hard for God! If we don’t have it already, we must develop faith as a grain of mustard seed, because that kind of faith can move mountains! Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We must learn how to believe what we don’t see, until God brings it to pass. Now that’s faith! We must call those things that are not, as though they were. God’s Word says, the power of life and death, are in the tongue. I speak life to every “dead” situation in our lives! God is a healer, a way maker, a provider, a friend in the midnight hour, and whatever you need Him to be. Without faith, it is impossible to please God, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Have faith in God, for with God all things are possible! Trust in the Lord to answer your prayers. If you abide in Him, and His words abide in you, ye shall ask with you will, and it shall be done unto you! With God, all things are possible! Are you dealing with a seemingly impossible situation?

Are you at the end of your rope? Don’t just tie a knot and hang on. Turn it over to Jesus! James 5:16 says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” Father, I know that You are the God of “impossible” situations, and that You can do anything to fail. I turn every trial, every tribulation and every dilemma, over to You. Even when doctors have given up on us, we know that You are the Great Physician, and man’s extremity is God’s opportunity! Work a work in our lives today God, and save the unsaved! Give them a mind to cry out, what must I do to be saved! Help us to draw nigh unto You God, that You would draw nigh unto us. Help us to have faith as a grain of mustard seed. God, I give You the praise, the glory, and the honor that is due unto Your great name! I thank You for answering every prayer, and for working out every seemingly impossible situation in our lives today, is Your great name, Jesus I pray. Amen! May the Lord bless you abundantly, today and everyday.

  1. Hi Paulette,

God works so many things for the good of His children…. One thing that amazes me is that there have been times when I did not realize the good until way more than 40 years later….. Our hind sight is better than our foresight…. I thought things were rough, but God had a good purpose behind it all — not to mention compassion and wisdom….. We certainly can trust Him to work all things for our good in the end.

    • Amen, Margaret! It is true, that we don’t always see that God is working things out for our good, and the human knee-jerk response is to ask Him, why; the King of kings, and the Lord of lords! We simply have to accept what comes our way, as working out for the good, to them who love the Lord, and to those who are the called according to His purpose. No matter what we are going through, nothing is too hard for the Lord, and if we are going through it, God can bring us out of it! Thank you for sharing! God bless you!

    • Ann,

That is one thing that we can count on, God’s word! No matter how long it takes, if God said it, it will come to fruition, without a doubt! A promise is a promise! That’s just the kind of God we serve! I just love Him so much! Praise God! I’ll be going over to your site shortly! God bless you!

  2. Paulette,

Thanks for sharing this blog, so on point!!! The scripture that came to mind is ‘God’s not slack concerning his promise came to mind”. I loved when you said “That is one thing that we can count on, God’s word! No matter how long it takes”. That is so true, and we have to continuously remind ourselves of that everyday, that no matter how long it takes or we think it takes, God is faithful and will fufill his promise. Do you remember this song from back in the day. I still listen to it!! lol…I so love the older songs/hymns

Have you any rivers you think are impossible
Have you any mountains you cannot tunnel through
    God specializes in things impossilbe
And he can do, what no other power, Holy Ghost power can do

I remember Pastor Davis singing this song back in the day and I loved it then and love it now.

    • Hi Tina,

Sometimes, though it may be unintentional, but the arms of flesh will fail us. Thank God, He will never fail. God’s word is sure, that is one thing that you can count on!

I remember Pastor Davis singing that song. God specializes!

I appreciate you leaving a comment, as always! I love your input! You are an encouragement to me!

      God bless!

  3. This reminds me of the new worship song “Your Great Name” by Natalie Grant. Every impossibility can happen ‘at the sound of Your great name’, Jesus!
